Summit are looking to recruit the next generation of scaffolders.
Role:
To work under the direction and guidance of an experienced supervisor on a range of new and existing buildings.
The job holder will work towards and be expected to achieve a Level 2 qualification in Scaffolding
Key Accountabilities include:
Learn the process of understanding drawings and work in accordance with customer requirements.
Loading and unloading vehicles using correct manual handling methods
Assembling and dismantling a range of different scaffold types examples but not exhaustive list are towers, independent, birdcage, cantilever, edge protection and mobile platforms. where appropriate
Ensuring safety measures are put in place to protect other trades and/or members of the public
Learn the process of inspecting and tagging scaffolding to ensure it is safe
Attend College on a block release basis, and undertake any additional training as requested
Take part in the apprentice review process
Follow Health & Safety policy and procedures, including the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the use of harnesses for working at height
Use all tools, equipment and materials safely
Build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, customers and managers
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Can understand and follow instructions
Can work as part of a team
Good knowledge of English and communication skills
Good understanding of maths
Good understanding of and willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
Can pay close attention to detail
Can be flexible in work activities, locations and hours of work
Ability to work in external environments and work at height
